Treatment of the refinery wastewater in a gas-liquid-solid three-phase flow airlift loop bioreactor

Aerobic treatment of refinery wastewater was carried out in a 200 dm(3) gas-liquid-solid threephase flow airlift loop bioreactor, in which a biological membrane replaced the activated sludge. The influences of temperature, pH, gas-liquid ratio and hydraulic residence time on the reductions in chemical oxygen demand (COD) and NH4-N were investigated and discussed.
