Disposal of wastewater from various sources into natural water resources like rivers and lakes causes changes in the chemical and biological properties of water which constitute a health hazard. Dyes find their way into the water bodies mainly from refuge of paint and pigment, carpet and textile industries. These dyes are toxic as well as known potential carcinogens, thus their removal from wastewater is of utmost importance.
