Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding 66(3): 267-268

PV 2, a high-yielding cardamom clone with bold capsules, was selected among the open-pollinated seedlings of PV 1 developed in Pampadumpara, Kerala, India, during 1996. PV 2 was evaluated against 12 high-yielding clones and 2 controls (Green Gold and PV 1) during 1999, 2000 and 2001. The highest grain yields were recorded for PV 2 in all years (680.20, 970.0 and 1100.50 kg/ha in 1998-99, 1999-2000 and 2000-01, respectively).
