A comparison on tissue culture ability between maize mature embryo and immature embryo

Journal of Xinjiang Agricultural University 28(2): 10-13

This paper deals with studies on initiation, maintenance and differentiation of callus from mature and immature embryos of 13 genotypes of maize. The callus induction frequency was correlated between mature embryo and immature embryo, but the callus quality was different. The calluses obtained from immature embryo were generally better than those from mature embryo.
