Field experiments were conducted during 1994/95 and 1995/96, in Alexandria, Egypt, to investigate the effects of sowing date (21 October, 6 November, 21 November and 6 December) and sowing rate (50, 75 and 100 kg/feddan) on the growth and yield of wheat Sakha 69. Data were recorded for growth attributes (plant height, leaves per plant, spikes per plant, dry weight of leaves per plant, dry weight of stem per plant, dry weight of spikes per plant and dry weight of total plant), yield characters (plant height, length of spikes per plant, spikes per plant, weight of spikes/m2, 1000-grain weight, grain weight per plot, grain yield, straw yield, biological yield and harvest index), and crude protein percentage in grains.
