Establishment of MTT assay for detecting chicken interleukin-6 activity

Establishment of MTT assay for detecting chicken interleukin-6 activity

Chinese Journal of Veterinary Science 26(5): 522-524

A rapid, sensitive and simple method using the interleukin 6-dependent cell line B9 and MTT colorimetric assay for the determination of chIL-6 activity was established in this experiment. A good linear relationship was observed between the optical density value and number of cells (2.5x103 to 4x104). The best incubation period with MTT was 4 h. The detectable limit was 0.1 pg of IL-6 in one ml.
