Estimation of losses due to powdery mildew of wheat in Himachal Pradesh

Field trials were conducted at two locations (Palampur and Dhaulakuan) in Himachal Pradesh, India, during rabi 1994-95 and 1996-97, to assess the losses in two susceptible wheat cultivars (HP1633 and UP2003) due to powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis f.sp. tritici) infection. Three sprays of propiconazole (Tilt 25 EC, 0.05%) were given at fortnightly intervals at tillering, stem elongation and booting to ear emergence stages, starting from the first appearance of the disease.
