Colorado's Lower Arkansas River Valley is showing evidence of deterioration from saline high water tables and rising salt concentrations in soils and surface waters. The productivity of many of the rich soils of the Valley and has been diminished. Also river water quality has suffered due to disturbingly high levels of salt and selenium.
