Evaluation of FHIA hybrids against Sigatoka leaf spot disease of banana

Five banana cultivars (Rajapuri, FHIA 01, Karibale, FHIA 03 and FHIA 17) were evaluated for reaction against Sigatoka leaf spot disease (caused by Mycosphaerella musicola) in Arabhavi, Karnataka, India, during 2002-03 under heavy natural disease pressure conditions. FHIA 01, FHIA-03 and FHIA17 were resistant to Sigatoka leaf spot. Karibale and Rajapuri exhibited susceptible to highly susceptible reaction to the Sigatoka leaf spot disease.
