Evaluation of pentachloronitrobenzene (PCNB) on the control of root rot caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn on field bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Evaluation of pentachloronitrobenzene (PCNB) on the control of root rot caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn on field bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Agronomia Mesoamericana 1: 55-61

This experiment was conducted in Carazo, Nicaragua, from June to September 1987, with the following objectives: (1) to determine the appropriate rate of pentachloronitrobenzene (PCNB) for control of Rhizoctonia solani in common bean, (2) to evaluate the effect of mixing PCNB and metalaxyl on grain yield of common bean, (3) to determine yield reduction percentages caused by R. solani in common bean and (4) to select the best common bean cultivar relative to the defined treatments.
