Forests in landscapes: ecosystem approaches to sustainability

Forests in landscapes: ecosystem approaches to sustainability

Forests in landscapes: ecosystem approaches to sustainability: xv + 257 pp.

This book contains 12 chapters providing information on the actual experiences of forest managers in attempting to work at the scale of socio-ecological systems. A distinction is drawn between the Convention on Biological Diversity statement of Principles for the Ecosystem Approach and the practical, on-the-ground, reality of forest departments, land managers and communities attempting to locate their operational work in a broader landscape or ecosystem context.
