This review discusses the immune system of Black Tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon, particularly the components of the cellular immune system (haemocytes, phagocytes, phenoloxidase and intermediate metabolites) and humoral immune system (lectin-based systems), as well as the factors that affect the immune system (water quality, infectious disease and mycotoxins) and immune stimulants like beta -glucan, peptidoglycan, lipopolysaccharide, probiotics, vitamins and minerals.
