Mixed infection of Sugarcane streak mosaic and Sugarcane yellow leaf virus infecting sugarcane crops in A.P., India

In a survey conducted among sugarcane growing areas of Andhra Pradesh, India, some plants (from 45 cultivars) exhibited varying severity of interveinal chlorotic specks, streaks or stripes, particularly on young leaves. Some showed yellowing midrib in mature leaves with a distinctive strong yellow midrib on the lower (abaxial) surface that gradually spreads laterally, and dries up starting at the tip and progresses down towards the leaf base.
