Occurrence and flowering of a bamboo Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro, in Nagaland, India

The origin of the bamboo Dendrocalamus latiflorus is unknown. However, it is cultivated in China, India, Taiwan, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines. The prospects of this bamboo are very promising, especially for edible shoots production and export. D. latiflorus is reported from Nagaland, India, for the first time.
