Oviposition behaviour between the water hyacinth weevils Neochetina eichhorniae Warner and N. bruchi Hustache (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) - its implications in biological control of Eichhornia crassipes

Oviposition behaviour between the water hyacinth weevils Neochetina eichhorniae Warner and N. bruchi Hustache (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) - its implications in biological control of Eichhornia crassipes

Aquatic weeds: problems, control and management: 172-175

The oviposition behaviour of N. eichhorniae and N. bruchi on E. crassipes was studied under laboratory conditions. N. eichhorniae preferred older leaves whereas N. bruchi preferred younger leaves for oviposition.
