Possibility of using ozone in sugar production

Sakharnaya Svekla (10): 28-30

The use of ozone as an oxidizing agent for purifying sugarbeet diffusion juice in the sugar production process was investigated. Factors affecting the process (ozonation temperature, ozone concentration and consumption of the ozone-air mixture) and the effects on juice quality (purity, colour, total concentrations of calcium salts and reduced substances) were evaluated.
