Rajendra Sweta (RAU710-99-22) is a new high-yielding, fine-grained rice cultivar developed from the cross Sita/Pusa Basmati-1//Katarni. This cultivar was released in Bihar, India, during 2004 for cultivation under irrigated conditions. In breeding trials conducted in Bihar from 2002 to 2003, Rajendra Sweta had a higher average yield (3.5 t/ha) than Pusa Basmati 1 (2.3 t/ha) and Sugandha (2.7 t/ha).
