Research on the development of applicable agricultural machines for small-scale farmers in Africa (Part 2) - case study of improvement and trial-made of Turkish thresher

Journal of the Japanese Society of Agricultural Machinery 68(4): 65-71

Recently, the introduced Turkish thresher has become widespread among small-scale farmers in Morocco. However, the length of straw appropriate for animal feed could not be produced by the Turkish thresher. Therefore, an inlet and an outlet for wheat and barley straw were installed in the threshing drum. In addition, the threshing drum was adapted to a screw-type tooth arrangement. A performance test was then done in order to determine the appropriate length of straw.
