Research regarding the influence of the feeding time in the cold season on the wear of wintering bees

Research regarding the influence of the feeding time in the cold season on the wear of wintering bees

A 31 a Sesiune Anuala de Comunicari Stiintifice, Bucuresti 2002: 44-46

This study was conducted to determine the effect of type of feeding (natural or artificial (sugar and pollen bread substitute)) on the wear of wintering bees during the cold season. Two batches composed of 15 bee families were used in the study. The strength and number of dead bees as well as the bacterial and parasite infections of the bees before and after winter were measured. It was observed that the bees had the same strength and hibernated in the same area.
