The population dynamics of beneficial insects in a pear orchard that is annually treated with insecticides in Bucharest, Romania were studied in 2003. A total of 26 031 insects (22 194 pests and 3837 beneficial insects were recorded). The most dominant pests were psyllids, particularly Cacopsylla pyri, followed by the weevils (Phyllobius oblongus and Polydrusus inustus).
