Resistance to tetracyclines of pathogenic Escherichia coli strains

Resistance to tetracyclines of pathogenic Escherichia coli strains

Advances in Agricultural Sciences 10: 51-58

This study was conducted to determine the antibiotic (tetracycline, doxycycline and minocycline) resistance of 28 pathogenic E. coli strains. Phenotypic antimicrobial resistance was determined by disk diffusion method. Results revealed that 50% of isolates were susceptible and 32% were resistant to tetracycline, doxycycline and minocycline. The remaining 18% of the strains had various susceptibilities to tetracycline and minocycline, but all of them were resistant to doxycycline.
