A field experiment was conducted during the kharif seasons of 2000 and 2001 at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India, to investigate the effect of different nitrogen (N) levels (25, 50, 75 and 100 kg/ha) on the fodder yield and quality of pearl millet varieties (FBC 16 and PCB 141). In both years, significantly higher green fodder and dry matter yields were observed in FBC 16 compared with PCB 141.
