Response of planting density on the yield and harvest index of psyllium seed (Plantago ovata)

A field experiment was conducted during the winter of 2003, in Tandojam, Pakistan, to evaluate the effects of planting density (7.5 and 12.5 kg seeds/ha) and row spacing (15, 22.5 and 30 cm) on the yield and harvest index of psyllium (Plantago ovata). The results showed that number of tillers plant-1, number of spikes m-2, number of seeds spike-1 and seed yield kg ha-1 were influenced significantly by row spacing.
