Response of some peanut genotypes to intercropping with sesame in relation to yield and yield components

A field trial was conducted in Ismailia, Egypt, during 2002 and 2003 to study the response 4 groundnut genotypes to intercropping with sesame. The intercropping pattern of 100% groundnut + 50% sesame was established by (1) intercropping one groundnut ridge and leaving one ridge of groundnut without an intercrop, (2) intercropping 2 groundnut ridges and leaving the other two ridges without an intercrop, or (3) intercropping all groundnut ridges with sesame with a 40-cm distance between ridges.
