Responses of plants to soil flooding

Responses of plants to soil flooding

Investigacion Agraria, Sistemas y Recursos Forestales (Fuera de S.1): 101-107

Waterlogging is shown as a kind of stress to plants. Mechanisms of flooding tolerance are described and the influence of taxon, plant age, temporal variation and soil types is emphasized. The effects on seed germination and the establishment of riparian species on flooded soils are discussed.
