Restricted selection index for some growth traits of Awassi sheep in Jordan

Restricted selection index for some growth traits of Awassi sheep in Jordan

Proceedings of the 8th World Congress on Genetics Applied to Livestock Production, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 13-18 August 2006: 04-17

This study was involved using 1324 birth weights (BWT), 1227 weaning weights (WWT), 1324 marketing weights (MWT) and 1018 yearling weights (YEWT) of Awassi lambs. Utilized from Al-Fjaj Station (Ministry of Agriculture, Jordan) through five successive seasons (2000-2005). Restricted selection index for increasing yearling (YEWT), marketing (MWT), and weaning (WWT) weights while keeping birth weight at a certain level was constructed.
