The seasonal dynamics of flea (Siphonaptera) abundance on Apodemus uralensis in the northern part of Novgorod Region



Parazitologiya 39(4): 270-277



Of 7 flea species detected on Apodemus uralensis in the northern part of Novgorod Region, Russia, 3 (Ctenophthalmus agyrtes, C. uncinatus and Megabothris turbidus) are the main parasites. The fleas parasitize during spring and summer (starting in April) and disappear in autumn (September-October). The abundance of all 3 species show 2 peaks in a year (corresponding to 2 generations).
