Effect of salt stress on seed germination of Vitex negundo, Fraxinus velutina and Elaeagnus angustifolia

The seeds of Vitex negundo, Fraxinus velutina and Elaeagnus angustifolia were treated with different concentrations of NaCl and Na2CO3. Their germination percentage, speed and the growth of radicle under salt stress, as well as their germination under light and darkness were measured and analysed. The results showed that the light prominently promoted seed germination of the 3 plants, and the effect of light on the growth of radicle varied.
