Broadcasting of forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) often results in unsatisfactory emergence and establishment of seedlings. This study evaluated post-sowing rotary tillage and soil packing as management practices to improve the emergence and establishment of densely broadcasted forage sorghum (cv. Hazuki). Shallow tillage to a depth of ~5 cm resulted in high seedling emergence rates (>60%), regardless of application or intensity of soil packing.
