The initial development of peach Aurora-1 budded on mume (Prunus mume) clones 05, 10 and 15, and peach Okinawa propagated by herbaceous cuttings was evaluated in Sao Paulo, Brazil during 2002-04. After 23 months, vigour was not affected by rootstock genotype. Clone 05 increased the flowering of Aurora-1 compared to Okinawa. The rootstocks did not affect fruit number and sprouting.
