Management of basal rot of betelvine (Piper betle L.) caused by Sclerotium rolfsii (Sacc.) by using antagonist

Trichoderma harzianum T7 was used as a fungal antagonist for controlling basal rot (Sclerotium rolfsii of betel (P. betle). The antagonist was grown on wheat and bajra seed for 30 days and then 10, 30 and 60 g of inoculum was mass multiplied in 10 g of vermicompost, cow dung manure and mustard oil cake for 21 days. The antagonist was applied in the field (West Bengal, India) on betel Kalyani. Pathogen was applied at 10 days after inoculation with the antagonist.
