Physiological studies on Jasminum sambac, Ait. plants: II - Effect of pruning date and cycocel on growth, flowering and chemical constituents

The effects of 3 pruning dates (20 December, 20 January and 20 February) and 4 Cycocel concentrations (0, 500, 1000 and 2000 ppm) on the performance of J. sambac were investigated at Minia University, Egypt, during 1998 and 1999. Pruning on 20 December resulted in the greatest plant height, number and diameter of lateral branches, and number, area and fresh weight of leaves, whereas pruning on 20 February gave the lowest values for these parameters.
