Comparison of the chemical composition and urea content in milk of Black-White and Simmental cows during the summer and winter feeding periods

The objective of this study was to compare the basic chemical composition of milk from the cows of 2 breeds, Polish Holstein-Friesian Black and White variety and Simmental, throughout the summer and winter feeding. 249 milk samples were collected from 66 Simmental and 64 Polish HF Black and White cows. The samples were collected twice, in the summer (June to July) and winter (December to January). In each milk sample, the basic chemical composition was determined.
