Expression of MCP-1 and its receptor CCR2 in a murine of experimental vaginal candidiasis

A murine model of vaginal candidosis was established to investigate the role of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and its receptor CC chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) in the local immune response during vaginal candidosis. The mice infected with Candida albicans and a non-infected control group were both treated with oestrogen. The expression of MCP-1 and CCR2 in the animals' vaginal tissue and draining lumbar lymph nodes was assessed using RT-PCR and ELISA.
