Leaf spot in mulberry plant (Morus alba) in the lowland humid tropics of southwestern Nigeria

Leaf spot in mulberry plant (Morus alba) in the lowland humid tropics of southwestern Nigeria

Plant Pathology Journal 4(2): 103-106

The aetiology and epidemiology of leaf spot and seedling blight of mulberry plant (M. alba) were investigated at Ibadan, southwestern Nigeria. Cercospora moricola was associated with the concentric leaf spot and seedling blight of mulberry. The pathogen was found associated with plant debris and weeds, namely, Macrosphyra longistyla, Mucuna pruriens, Commelina erecta and Chromolaena odorata, found growing within the mulberry plots.
