Localized persistent infection of the genital tract with bovine viral diarrhoea virus in an immunocompetent bull

Localized persistent infection of the genital tract with bovine viral diarrhoea virus in an immunocompetent bull

Wiener Tierärztliche Monatsschrift 92(10): 227-232

ISSN/ISBN: 0043-535X

Animals persistently infected with bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV) are characterized by virus shedding without developing corresponding antibodies after fetal infection. Postnatal infection with BVDV leads normally to transient viraemia and response of specific antibodies with further elimination of the virus.
