Survey on symptomatology and assessment of yield losses due to viral diseases in elephant foot yam (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius Blume)

A field survey for the incidence of viral diseases in Amorphophallus paeoniifolius was conducted in Faizabad, Sultanpur and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, before maturity during the cropping seasons of 2002-03 and 2003-04. Most of the plants in all the fields were affected by virus diseases and exhibited mild to severe mosaic mottling, leaf curling, yellowing and vein clearing symptoms.
