Estradiol and progesterone concentrations in prepartum and postpartum vaginal prolapse in buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

Estradiol and progesterone concentrations in prepartum and postpartum vaginal prolapse in buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

Indian Journal of Field Veterinarians 2(2): 1-3

The study was conducted to determine the level of changes in estradiol and progesterone concentrations in five buffaloes with prepartum and postpartum vaginal prolapse. Results revealed that the level of estradiol was significantly (P<0.05) higher in buffaloes with postpartum vaginal prolapse, while insignificant in prepartum buffaloes. The progesterone (P<0.05) and the estradiol:progesterone ratio (P<0.05) were significantly higher in both prepartum and postpartum vaginal prolapse.
