Immunostimulant and hepatoprotective activity of Andrographis panniculata in broilers

Immunostimulant and hepatoprotective activity of Andrographis panniculata in broilers

Indian Veterinary Journal 84(3): 277-279

Andrographis panniculata (AP) is one of the ancient medicinal herb which included the stimulation of antibody and delayed hypersensitivity response to sheep red blood cells due to the presence of Andrographolide in AP (Puri et al., 1993). AP is also used extensively in the Indian traditional system of medicine as a hepatoprotective agent (Kapil et al., 1993). Hence the present study was carried out to find out the immunostimulant and hepatoprotective activity of AP in broilers.
