Genetic analysis of plant height in tetraploid wheat. Inheritance of dwarfism during hybridization of hard wheats with the line Tom Pouce

Genetic analysis of plant height in tetraploid wheat. Inheritance of dwarfism during hybridization of hard wheats with the line Tom Pouce

Soviet genetics 27(5): 607-611

Inheritance of plant height in hard wheat during hybridization of the latter with the dwarf line Tom Pouce was studied. The presence of one semi-dominant gene for dwarfism in the genotype of the new line of hard wheat, Tom Pouce tetraploid, was revealed. It was shown that plant height in hybrid combinations involving the dwarf line Tom Pouce and the tall-growing varieties Derbentskaya chernokolosaya and Khar'kovskaya 46 is inherited as a qualitative character.
