Effects of nitrogen rates on nitrogen accumulation, transport and distribution in winter wheat varieties

Effects of nitrogen rates on nitrogen accumulation, transport and distribution in winter wheat varieties

Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer Science 12(2): 143-149

In a field experiment on dryland of the loess region, 4 winter wheat varieties (Shaan 253, Shaan 229, Xiaoyan 503 and Xiaoyan 22) were supplied with nitrogen (N) at 0, 60, 120, 180 and 300 kg/ha. The highest N uptake during the whole growth period occurred from the reviving stage to the anthesis stage. While varying with variety, nitrogen accumulation generally increased with N rate. Nitrogen accumulation was highest in Xiaoyan 22, followed in sequence by Shaan 253, Xiaoyan 503 and Shaan 229.
