A nematode disease of rice in the Central Provinces

Dastur describes a disease of rice characterized by the presence of sterile flowers having white glumes which may be distorted or the spikelets may be aborted. Conditions of high atmospheric humidity, when the flowers are still enveloped by the sheath, favour the appearance of the disease and on certain early varieties of rice, whose flowers emerge during such periods of high humidity, disease symptoms are particularly common.
