A short note ou the foot-rot disease of Pan in the Central Provinces

Agric. Journ. of India 22(2): 105-108

The author describes in popular terms the symptoms and course of infection of a disease which of late years has proved seriously injurious to 'pan' (Piper betle) in the Central Provinces of India, and the causal agent of which has been found to be a species of Phytophthora. The disease decreases in virulence in winter and practically disappears in the hot season, being at its maximum during the rains.
