A study on the effect upon growing pigs of mixing varying amounts of water in their grain rations

A study on the effect upon growing pigs of mixing varying amounts of water in their grain rations

Philippine Agriculturist. 28: 44-51

During 3 70-day periods 4 groups of 6 pigs each were given to appetite the same grain mixture with different amounts of water to form a slop. The proportion of feed to water in the slop was 1: 2, 1: 3, 1: 4 and 1: 5. On the basis of rate of liveweight gain Group 2 gave the best results, followed very closely by Group 1; Group 4 showed marked retardation of growth and development.
