Phytopath, 13: 7, 307-315

In the present paper the authors discuss the identity and taxonomy of the causal organism, and give the results of their further study of bacterial spot of tomato and pepper in Indiana. The cause is stated to be Bacterium vesicatorium Doidge, with which the authors' subsequently described Bact. exitiosum has proved, on the examination of cultures from Miss Doidge, to be identical.
