Two modifications of Steenbock's rachitogenic diet were used, one low in both Ca and P and the other low in Ca and high in P. Young rats reared on either diet showed a content of ash Ca and P 30 per cent. below the normal in the tibiae, but only 10 per cent. below the normal in the incisor teeth. After two months on these diets, 2 per cent. of cod-liver oil mixed in the diet restored both teeth and bones to normal. M. A.
