Comparison of the Meinieke Floeculation, Agglutination, and Complement-Fixation Tests for Bovine Brucellosis

Comparison of the Meinieke Floeculation, Agglutination, and Complement-Fixation Tests for Bovine Brucellosis

Beretn. 5 nord. Vet. m<o>de Kbh. 1940. 297-820

The agglutination, complement-fixation, and Meinicke's flocculation tests were used on numerous cattle in newly and chronically infected herds. Technical methods are detailed and results are given in tables. Judging from the highest numbers of results considered positive with each test, the aggln. method (reaction at a titre of 1: 20) appeared to be the most reliable. The other tests were most valuable in newly infected herds and of comparatively little value in chronic infections.
