Effect of cortin on the metabolism of creatinine and of creatine at the minimum level of specific nitrogen expenditure

Effect of cortin on the metabolism of creatinine and of creatine at the minimum level of specific nitrogen expenditure

Arch, internat. Physiol 49: 345-388

In normal or castrated rats maintained at their specific endogenous N expenditure on a carbohydrate diet, treatment with suprarenal cortical hormones had no effect on the excretion of creatinine, which, per kg. bodyweight, remained constant. On the other hand the intensity of the creatinuria was very markedly modified either by prolongation of the basal carbohydrate regime or by treatment with suprarenal hormones, without affecting the creatinine excretion.
