Effect of dietary supplementation of fresh water algae Euglena on the performance and egg quality and fatty acid composition of egg yolk in laying hens

Feeding trials were conducted with Euglena strains grown under different media. The effect of supplementation of Euglena on the laying performance, egg quality and fatty acid composition of egg yolk was studied. In experiment I, 280 ISA Brown layers aged 32 weeks were randomly assigned to 7 dietary treatments for 4 weeks. Each treatment consisted of 4 replications with 10 birds each housed in 2 bird cages. The control diet was formulated to have 17% CP and 2750 kcal ME/kg.
