Field tests in New Zealand indicated that contrary to the belief held by some growers applications of Bordeaux mixture or copper sulfate in combination with lime-sulphur in the spraying programme are not injurious to apple trees, provided that the lime-sulphur is not present in excess. Soluble copper compounds are not formed when Bordeaux mixture (3-4-50) is combined with 0-2 per cent, lime-sulphur, an approximately neutral compound being produced.
